Online Shop FAQ
Q. What is the billing currency?
A. You will be charged in CAD (Canadian Dollars). Depending on your location, you may see items listed in USD or Euro, however the final payment at the checkout page will be converted to CAD.
Q. Where are you shipping from?
A. Items are shipped from Ontario, Canada. Please review our Shipping Policy for delivery estimates.
Q. How is the personalization done?
A. As a professional calligrapher, I specialize in hand lettered personalized gifts. Artist grade paint pens and inks are used to do the lettering. Some products are hand engraved using a professional calligraphy engraver. We DO NOT use vinyl stickers or any computer generated fonts.
Q. Can I get a proof?
A. Proofs are NOT provided on any of our items as I hand letter directly onto the products we sell. We also DO NOT send preview photos. We will make a best judgement on lettering styles, sizing and placement of text.
Q. Can I change the text on the item?
A. All of our gift items can be personalized with your custom text. Please check the item description for the maximum words allowed prior to purchase.
Calligraphy Service FAQ
Q. What is the pricing?
A. For envelope addressing, the pricing depends on the style chosen as well as the addition of inner envelopes, return address or custom ink colours. Signage starts at $100+hst. Please contact us for full pricing details.
Q. Do you offer shipping?
A. Many of our clients are not from the Toronto area. Aside from seating charts, we are able to ship our products world wide.
Q. Can I make an advanced booking?
A. Yes, this is recommended as we only take on a limited number of clients each week. A 50% retainer is required to reserve a spot on our calendar in advance.
Q. What is the turnaround time?
A. Our standard turnaround time is 2 weeks. Rush services are also available for an additional fee, but are subject to our availability.
Q. Do you provide rentals?
A. We have a small supply of mirrors and chalkboards available to rent for our calligraphy clients.
Q. How do I send my guest list for envelope addressing?
A. Please send a numbered guest list in Word (.doc) format. The envelopes will be addressed just as they appear so please check your spelling, salutations, lines, etc. Full details will be provided upon booking.
Q. Do you design invitations?
A. Yes! We can provide the original design in a high res digital file. We also provide full service printing & paper services.
Q. Do you do On-Site work?
A. Barbara Kua takes on a limited number of on-site commissions per year. A minimum charge of $500 is required for on-site work.
